We are recruiting a Salaried GP to work 4 - 6 sessions per week and join ourmulti-disciplinary clinical team providing a high standard of care for ourpractice population of approx 12,900 patients.
We are a forward thinking practice and our team are friendly, approachable and supportive. We are a GP trainingpractice, with much experience of training staff in a variety of our valuedroles.
The surgery is in a modern purpose built building with free staff parking andare close to good public transport links.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the practicetimetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available toundertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone and online consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, dealing with queries and clinical admin work in atimely fashion.
Making professional, autonomousdecisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referredfrom other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needsof patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for diseaserisk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care plans for healthin consultation with patients and in line with current practice diseasemanagement protocols
Providing counselling and healtheducation
Admitting or dischargingpatients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers asappropriate
Recording clear andcontemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Supporting other clinical colleagues
Compiling and issuingcomputer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-writtenprescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance withthe practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinicallyappropriate

Our practice team is led by 4 partners and comprises of GP's, GP reg, Salaried GP, ANP, ACP's and Trainee ACP, Physician Assistants, Practice Nurses, NurseAssociates, Healthcare Assistants, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians and GP Assistants.These are all well supported by our reception andadmin team.
We have a close practice team of over 40 staff who are friendly,approachable and supportive. We strive to provide a high standard of care forour patients with the resources available to us and working in partnership withwider health and social care services.
The practice is an active member of Dewsbury & Thornhill PCN and Curo Healthcare GP Federation working with other local practices to develop population care.
Job responsibilities

* In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Person Specification
Experience
* Previous experience of working as a GP in general practice.
Qualifications
* To hold a degree in medicine that is recognised by the General Medical
* Have completed a two year foundation course in general training.
* To complete specialist training in general medical practice.
