About Us
Southway Housing Trust is a committed and forward-thinking community focused housing association dedicated to providing excellent homes and outstanding customer care. With a vision of Thriving Communities, Southway manages over 6,500 homes across Greater Manchester.
Southway strives to reduce child poverty, loneliness and isolation and increase employment, social connectedness and pride in neighbourhoods. Our REACH values of Respect, Equity, Ambition, Compassion and Honesty reflect Southway's culture, how we deliver our services, and our relationships with customers, colleagues and partners. Southway values diversity in all aspects of its communities and operations.
The Role
We believe that everyone should have a decent place to live, because a good-quality home provides the foundations for people to thrive. By doing the basics brilliantly and investing wisely, we will make sure our homes are safe, warm, and sustainable for generations to come and ensuring every property reaches at least EPC Band C prior to 2030.
We will secure funding for improvements by maximising grants and investing in retrofit works that reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills for our customers.
We are seeking a passionate Sustainability Coordinator to help champion our sustainability agenda. You will work within the Asset and Sustainability team to support with the delivery projects that lower carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and help our customers reduce their energy costs. This will also include ensuring Southway maximises grant funding opportunities. You will support the delivery of our environmental targets and help embed sustainability in everything we do.
This is a crucial coordination role focused on ensuring all documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements and funding are achieved throughout the lifecycle of retrofit projects.
Candidates
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable sustainability professional with experience in delivering environmental or energy efficiency projects with a passion for making a difference in people's lives and the environment.
You should have proven experience in information coordination, ideally within sectors such as construction, energy efficiency, housing, or compliance in a customer-focused organisation. Knowledge of retrofit principles and the PAS 2035 framework, or experience with energy efficiency funding schemes (like SHDF, Warm Homes, ECO, or LAD), is desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with reliability, accountability for personal targets, and good organisational and time management skill to meet deadlines and deliver results.
If you share our ambitions and commitment to sustainability, we would love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity and for the right person we offer a 35-hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme, flexible working and 25 days holiday increasing to 30 days.
