What skills and experience we’re looking for
Bedworth Heath Nursery School is a LA‑maintained nursery school with over 100 children on roll. We offer 2‑3 yr and 3‑4 yr nursery environments, and are recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated early‑years apprentice to join our federation.

Role Details
The vacancy is for an apprentice in Daisy Nursery (2‑3 yr provision) with allocated time in the 3‑4 yr Orchard Nursery. Working hours are 37 hrs, Monday‑Friday (8.15‑4 pm, with a planning & pedagogy meeting on Tuesdays until 4.45 pm). Study time is built into these hours.
Starting date: 12 Jan (or as soon as post‑interview checks are complete). The role is a temporary 2‑year contract, supporting you through your apprenticeship and preparing you for permanent employment in the education sector.
Key Requirements

Responsibilities
* Work with children aged 2‑4 years, organising activities and providing proactive help and care.
* Assist and meet the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
* Under supervision, provide all aspects of care/support, ensuring participation in day‑to‑day learning and play activities.
* Ensure the setting is safe, clean, and well presented.
* Collaborate with colleagues, upholding the highest standards of work in a positive manner.
* Contribute to a high‑quality environment, creating a warm, friendly, and stimulating atmosphere.
* Attend team meetings and provide relevant ideas.
* Understand and implement the setting’s confidentiality policy.
* Support an effective and supportive team environment.
Ideal Candidate
* Passionate about supporting children’s learning.
* Motivated to learn about and support children with a range of special educational needs.
* Outgoing and motivated attitude.
* Committed, punctual, and reliable.
* For 16‑19 yr applicants: an Early Years Educator Level 3 requirement to pass or Level 2 Functional Skills /Grade 4. Support can be given to pass functional skills Level 2/Grade 4 if you do not hold this qualification in English and Maths.
* Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Early Years or have extensive experience in the sector to start a Level 3 qualification.
