Role Description
This is a part‑time, on‑site role for a Junior Sous Chef, based at The Falcondale Country House Hotel in Lampeter, Ceredigion, West Wales. The Junior Sous Chef will assist in preparing high‑quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Responsibilities include supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, monitoring inventory, assisting in menu planning, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. The role requires a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences while upholding the standards of Cocoon Retreats.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating
* Experience in supervising kitchen operations and staff collaboration
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen cleanliness practices
* Creativity in menu planning and attention to ingredient quality
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills to perform under pressure
* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays
* Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment preferred
