We are looking for a Wastewater Network Engineer to join our Home Counties networks team.
Field‑based role based in Hockford (STW) GU24 0DE, working 38 hours Monday‑Friday plus additional standby rota duties. Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Key responsibilities
* Resolve sewer collapses, blockages, flooding of customers’ homes, and pollution to watercourses.
* Take personal ownership of customer issues, responding to queries, complaints, and resolving problems.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards during repairs.
* Act as a local network expert, providing information for risk assessments and sharing network risk and health & safety information.
* Attend meetings with customers, councils, and the Environment Agency to discuss support strategies.
* Provide critical on‑site information to support the wider Operations team.
* Supervise contractors, ensuring they work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Document and capture accurate data using IT field systems.
Required qualifications and skills
* Experience in a field‑based operations role within a similar organisation (desirable).
* Experience in collating data and report writing.
* Self‑motivated, highly disciplined, with a can‑do attitude and eagerness to learn from colleagues.
* Take ownership, respond quickly, and investigate problems thoroughly to find first‑time solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Team‑player: we work as one team towards common goals.
* Proactive: lead recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
* Prepared to receive safety procedure training.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
* Full UK driving licence for manual vehicles.
