Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organisation within our facilities, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for guests and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a friendly attitude. Previous experience in janitorial services, hotel housekeeping, or commercial cleaning is advantageous. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service. Applicants must be able to work early weekend morning shifts
Responsibilities
* Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces in guest rooms, public areas, and staff facilities
* Restock supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials to ensure availability for guests and staff
* Ensure all areas meet health and safety standards by adhering to cleaning protocols and safety procedures
* Assist with laundry duties as required, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens
* Support the preparation of rooms for new guests by making beds and organising amenities
* Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly
* Maintain a professional appearance and friendly demeanour when interacting with guests or staff
Qualifications
* Previous experience in janitorial services, hotel housekeeping, or commercial cleaning is preferred but not essential
* Basic cooking skills are considered a plus for supporting meal service areas when needed
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
* Organised with excellent attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends if required
