Role Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2 pupils
* Assess and monitor pupils’ progress regularly, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
* Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages engagement and curiosity
* Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure consistency and high expectations
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing progress and achievements
* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
* Support pupils’ transition from Year 2 to Key Stage 2

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
* A qualified teacher with QTS
* Experienced in teaching Year 2 or Key Stage 1, with strong knowledge of literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum
* Confident in differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners
* Creative, reflective, and able to plan engaging lessons that inspire curiosity
* Collaborative and able to contribute positively to the staff team
* Committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting pupil wellbeing
* Enthusiastic about fostering resilience, independence, and confidence in children
