Our adult ADHD service is recognized for clinical excellence, patient experience, and innovation. We are launching a dedicated children and adolescent service and are looking for an exceptional Child and Adolescent Clinical Director to lead it.

The Role
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You’ll be the prescribing clinician leading our children and adolescent ADHD and Autism service, shaping how we deliver outstanding care for children and young people.
You will:
* Lead the growth and development of the service, ensuring pathways meet high standards.
* Carry a clinical caseload as needed, from assessment to diagnosis and long-term care, including prescribing medication.
* Provide visible, values-driven leadership to a multidisciplinary team.
* Build strong relationships with families, schools, community teams, and the wider children’s mental health system.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Service Development
* Lead service growth, development, and continuous improvement.
* Act as Lead for children’s safeguarding, embedding a safe, responsive culture.
* Work with Clinical Ops Lead to ensure effective care pathways.
* Partner with stakeholders on service development, ensuring safety and quality.
* Contribute to quality and safety systems for clinical assurance.
* Use QI methodology to review and improve care pathways.
Clinical Governance and Risk Management
* Implement systems for supervision and standards of practice.
* Manage clinical risks proactively.
* Lead investigations into incidents, safeguarding concerns, and complaints.
* Disseminate learning and ensure actions are followed through.
* Oversee patient safety reviews and implement improvements.
Clinical Practice
* Oversee neurodevelopmental assessments and specialist input for complex cases.
* Collaborate with families and professionals for child-centered care.
* Maintain clinical skills aligned with NICE guidelines.
Workforce Leadership and Development
* Supervise and support clinical staff.
* Lead training for new staff.
* Contribute to professional development and performance management.
Research, Audit, and Quality Improvement
* Lead audits and service evaluations.
* Use data to inform decisions and innovations.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Regulatory and Professional Standards
* Maintain your CPD and evidence for appraisals.
* Promote professional standards and regulatory compliance.
* Participate in peer reviews and appraisals.
Partnership and External Engagement
* Build relationships with schools, authorities, and partners.
* Represent the service externally.
* Support initiatives to improve patient experience.

What Will Help You Thrive in This Role
* A recognised clinical qualification with active registration and prescribing rights.
* Extensive experience in child and adolescent ADHD and Autism assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
* Leadership experience in CAMHS or similar settings.
* Deep understanding of safeguarding and children’s mental health systems.
* Ability to embed governance, quality assurance, and compliance.
* Confidence managing complex cases and organizational change.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Collaborative approach, high standards, ethical integrity.
