Role Overview
We’re looking for a Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Advisor to support our Operational HSE strategy to ensure our workforce operates safely, whilst promoting good health and wellbeing and avoiding any negative impact on the environment or the public.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the assessment of emerging or updated HS&E legislation; review, amend or create HS&E procedures as required to meet continued compliance and communicate the impact to operations and the wider business.
* Undertake active monitoring (including hazard spotting, inspections and audits) of site management and working practices to help ensure the delivery of continual improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance. Ensure compliance with company HS&E policy and procedures.
* Support and promote WWU’s behavioural safety initiative, influencing the culture of the workforce by coaching to improve safety performance while promoting health and wellbeing.
* Undertake accident and/or incident investigation, producing detailed reports which identify immediate and underlying causes, offering recommendations for action to ensure compliance with HS&E legislation, guidance and WWU policy and procedures.
Requirements
* A professional qualification in HS&E such as an H&S Management Degree, GSE NVQ Level 5 or NEBOSH certificate.
* Membership of a HS&E professional body such as IOSH (Chartered or Graduate level, working towards Chartered membership).
