The Role
As a Project Controls Manager, you’ll have a pivotal leadership role within the Infrastructure Project Delivery Directorate, supporting a major programme of infrastructure investment at HMNB Clyde. This newly created position is designed to strengthen how we plan, forecast, control and report across a complex, multi‑stakeholder estate.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
* Lead the Infrastructure Project Delivery controls, reporting and systems function
* Partner with internal teams and customer stakeholders to align reporting and contractual requirements
* Maintain the baseline, manage change control processes, and keep robust records
* Deliver robust forecasts and performance reporting, providing financial and risk insights across programmes
* Drive assurance activity, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage payment release and receipt processes while embedding Babcock’s people and leadership principles
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential Experience
* Extensive experience in project and systems controls within complex programme environments
* A proven ability to shape, develop and lead a project controls function
* Creating a data‑driven culture, centralized, real‑time monitoring, interactive drive‑down and automated reporting
* Strong working knowledge of project controls tools such as Excel, Power BI, Primavera 6 and riskHive
* Experience leading and directing teams in a senior professional capacity
* An adaptable, solutions‑focused approach within evolving programme landscapes
Qualifications
* A recognised project management qualification (such as APM PMQ) and full membership of APM
* A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in project controls
* Chartered membership of APM is desirable
* A Level 5 (or above) Leadership and Management qualification is desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
