Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Transport Office Administrator to join our team.
With over 60 years in the haulage industry, Ferguson Transport & Shipping provides a comprehensive range of distribution services throughout the Highlands and across the UK.
We are currently recruiting for an Office Administrator (full or part-time) to join the Traffic Office at our Logistics Hub in Annat, Fort William.
Purpose of Job
* To help within the Traffic Office and assist with answering phone calls, communicating with drivers and ensuring accurate information is passed onto traffic planners, general office filing and administration.
* Ensure the company policies relating to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) are complied with and upheld at all times
* Ensure that other relevant company and department policies and procedures are complied with and upheld at all time.
Working as part of a dynamic team, duties will include:
* Being a member of the transport team; liaising regularly with the rest of the team
* Working within a busy office environment
* Providing First point of contact for queries via telephone and in person
* Answer phone calls and dealing with enquiries as they come in including email enquiries
* Ensure all enquiries are recorded on the enquiries spreadsheet
* Take and pass messages from drivers to traffic planners
* General traffic office administration, copying and filing
* Daily working with data spreadsheets such as trailer boards, empty running’s and daily lorry counts
* Daily input to the Haulier system – Training on this and other internal systems will be provided
* Liaising with Transport Planners & Managers daily
* Providing administrative support and assistance
* Maintenance of records/ updating internal IT systems
The post is ideally suited for an experienced administrator, however training will be provided for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly excel,
A good telephone manner and the ability to prioritise their workload.
Superb time management and organizational skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
Great problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
