Locum Orthodontic Therapist – Specialist Orthodontic Practice (Cambridge & Huntingdon)
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Orthodontic Therapist to join our friendly and professional team at our Specialist Orthodontic Practices in Cambridge and Huntingdon. This locum role is to provide maternity cover, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, specialist-led environment with a particular focus on orthodontic treatment including fixed appliances and Invisalign.
Location: Primarily based at our central Cambridge practice, with flexibility to travel to Huntingdon as needed.
Working hours: 23 hours per week, Monday 8:30am–5:30pm, Wednesday 8:30am-5:30pm and Friday 8:30am–4:30pm
Pay rate: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality orthodontic treatment under the prescription and direction of a Specialist Orthodontist, in line with the GDC's 'Scope of Practice'
* Deliver excellent chairside care, ensuring patient comfort and a positive treatment experience.
* Support patients with oral health education, appliance care, and treatment progress.
* Work collaboratively with orthodontists, dentists, and the wider dental team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
* Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to practice protocols, policies, and GDC standards.
Requirements:
* GDC-registered Orthodontic Therapist
* Demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective orthodontic treatment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both patients and colleagues
* A commitment to delivering high-quality care and excellent patient experiences
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced clinical setting
* Willingness to travel between Cambridge and Huntingdon practices
