An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Property Lawyer to join a respected public sector legal service in a role that blends high-quality property work with genuine supervisory responsibility. This newly shaped position sits between the senior legal team and a group of four Paralegals, offering the ideal next step for someone who wants to develop leadership skills without formal line management duties.
The Role
This post offers a split between progressing your own property caseload and supervising the work of Paralegals. The organisation has recently introduced a new supervision and checklist process, and you will play a key part in embedding and refining this approach day to day. You will not be completing appraisals or handling HR matters; instead, your focus will be on quality assurance, technical guidance and helping junior colleagues develop confidence in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a varied caseload including RTB, leasehold, residential and commercial property, sales, acquisitions and disposals
* Providing hands-on supervision to four Paralegals, ensuring quality across files
* Acting as the technical link between Paralegals and senior lawyers
* Formally reviewing work, supporting skills development and strengthening processes
* Contributing to the ongoing improvement of the team’s supervision model
About You:
* Confident in handling a broad property caseload
* Interested in developing supervisory skills – prior management experience is not required
* Open to candidates from private practice or the public sector
* Able to attend the office 1–2 days per week
