Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 1) Composites 3D Weaving or 2) Textiles Engineer/Programmer
Location: Bristol
Working Pattern: Full time
Rolls-Royce is developing manufacturing methods, processes, and materials for their composite fan systems. We are expanding as we deliver composite components and manufacturing programs across Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for two Manufacturing Engineers to work within the Composite Technology Facility (CTF) in Bristol. The role involves:
* Hands-on development of the 3D Weaving manufacturing process for a novel fan system.
* Creation, verification, and optimization of preform designs for various preforming methods, mainly for 3D Weaving.
The roles are based at CTF Bristol on the Filton site, with visits to offsite facilities, working closely with other parts of Rolls-Royce and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver composite preform processes, including 3D Weaving.
* Ensure processes meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
* Create technical packages for manufacturing processes.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement using statistical tools.
* Drive processes towards Zero Defects, owning technology strategies.
* Design and test preform programs, supporting manufacturing and quality goals.
Candidate Profile
* Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline, with manufacturing engineering experience.
* Knowledge of 3D weaving and textile processing.
* Understanding of technology readiness levels and process maturation.
* Experience with aerospace management systems and process controls.
* Experience in textile design and manufacturing, CAD/CAM software, and programming languages (Python, C#) is advantageous.
