Senior HR Advisor – Barnsley – circa £40,000 plus excellent benefits. Your new roleThis is a well-established manufacturing organisation which is part of a globalpany. The Barnsley site is part of the Engineering division of the business. This role is to be the Site HR Representative delivering high‑quality, practical support across the employee lifecycle of the Barnsley site and also support the wider HR team with the other site in the North East - while contributing to the organisation’s People & Culture strategy. You will provide hands‑on guidance to managers on employee relations, policy application, and day‑to‑day people matters, while also supporting overall business strategic activities.Reporting to the People Manager (based at Head Office), and also supporting a HR Advisor (also based at Head Office) you will support the site and also the wider business with; recruitment and onboarding, HR data accuracy, and continuous improvement of People & Culture processes. The role also contributes to policy development, people insight, and organisational initiatives that strengthen culture, enhance employee experience, and support long‑term organisational objectives.This is an excellent opportunity for a HR Advisor to join a successful business that is looking to have a dedicated site HR Representative, whilst also workingpany wide with the rest of the HR team.NB You will be the sole HR Representative for the Barnsley site but will also support the manufacturing and head office function (based in Newcastle) - therefore periodic travel to Newcastle is required on a 1 every 2-3 week basis.What you'll need to succeedAn experienced HR Professional.
1. Ideally you will be minimum CIPD Level 5 Qualified – or possess demonstratable suitable equivalent level of experience.
2. Background in fast-paced environments such as manufacturing, engineering or logistics – or equivalent
3. Strong and up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
4. Excellentmunication, influencing, and relationship‑building skills
5. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
6. Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
7. Confident in supporting HRIS reporting, data accuracy, and system improvements.
8. Strong HR analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights.
9. Proactive, solutions‑focused, and able to work autonomously
