JSS is currently recruiting a Category Manager (generalist indirects) position for a public sector organisation in the West Midlands area.
This is a critical role, taking ownership of several key spend areas (including HR, Professional Services and Marketing) within the business.
Lead the procurement process for indirects related, highly complex, business critical and above threshold goods and services, within a publicly regulated environment, managing all risk, legislative and regulatory requirements
Implements procurement procedures in keeping with the organisation’s Procurement strategy and Procurement Policy and processes
Working to a governance framework and other procurement regulations as required.
Supports development of appropriate procurement strategies that support value for money objectives e.g. supplier consolidation.
Develops and maintains a plan of all relevant procurement activity to meet business needs and advises on resource needs and options.
Partners with key stakeholders across the business to understand key requirements/Customer profiles for their business units seeking products to best match these criteria.
Works closely with legal and procurement teams to ensure adherence to contracted terms and conditions to maintain a high level of commerciality and relationship with key suppliers.
Proactively engages key suppliers to help strengthen and improve their performance and provide transparency to help alleviate current or future service issues including ensuring non-conformances are managed and addressed in a timely manner.

Demonstrable experience in running tenders and leading complex procurement competitions;
