Reed Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with PMLD in a primary school in Plymouth.
This is a highly rewarding role supporting a pupil working at foundation level, requiring a nurturing and adaptable approach to meet complex learning and developmental needs.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with profound and multiple learning difficulties
* Delivering tailored activities aligned to foundation level learning
* Supporting communication, sensory engagement and physical development
* Assisting with personal care where required
* Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement individual support plans
* Creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex additional needs
* Be patient, calm and highly empathetic
* Be confident working at a foundation or early developmental level
* Have an understanding of sensory approaches and differentiated learning
* Be comfortable supporting personal care needs
* Be able to build strong and consistent relationships
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
