The Social Worker will work as a member of themultidisciplinary team providing bestpractice care and treatment for young people and adults who require inpatienttreatment for an eating disorder. As theSocial Worker at Riverdale, you will be expected to carry out the outlinedduties, treating with respect the individuals and families you work with.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a social work service for adolescents and adults with eating disorders. They will work with patients and carers in a safe and supportive way, aiming to facilitate recovery and transition from an in-patient environment by being pragmatic in approach and identifying practical ways in which they can support treatment progression and recovery.
They will take a leading role with carers, ensuring communication and collaboration is integral to practice. More specifically this will involve facilitating the carers programme and adherence to the carers pathway.The post holder will provide leadership, guidance and training to colleagues regarding safeguarding, capacity and consent, best interests decision making, social care issues.

To provide specialist treatment toadult and adolescent patients within the inpatient, hospital setting ofRiverdale Grange.
To provide clear and informativesummaries detailing progress and recommendations regarding future interventionfor monthly CPA review meetings.
To contribute to MDT meetings (wardrounds) to help formulate clinical decision making.
To facilitatejoint sessions with families and CAMHS/Adult professionals and/or the widermulti-disciplinary team to ensure collaborative working and smooth handoverfrom inpatient services to community services.
To work in ways that meet the needs ofpeople from diverse racial, cultural, religious, sexual and differentbackgrounds and lifestyles.
To plan and prioritise their ownworkload, working autonomously and independently in day-to-day practice, whilstcoordinating and collaborating with team members and colleagues in otheragencies.

To provide supervision and guidance tocolleagues regarding social care and safeguarding issues.

Knowledge, training and experience
Honours or post graduate degree in Social Work or equivalent (approvedby the regulator, Social Work England)
To be an accredited member of Social Work England
