About The Job
As a Senior Software Developer, you will contribute to a full‑stack team that develops a cutting‑edge React UI application alongside Java and Go microservices. Your work will support critical daily operations for our customers, and you will invest in security, performance, and quality as much as in feature development.
Responsibilities
* Develop software with a React UI and Go/Java REST services using cloud native services and SAS’s internal APIs.
* Design and develop high‑quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines.
* Actively involve project stakeholders (managers, developers, UI designers, product managers) to ensure implementation meets functional requirements and R&D standards.
* Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of tasks and alert stakeholders of blockers.
* Ensure code quality through automated tests (unit, performance, UI).
* Perform software testing, verify, track, and fix bugs; modify designs as needed.
Required Qualifications
* 8+ years of experience as a Software Developer.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
* 2+ years of experience developing React or similar front‑end applications with TypeScript.
* 2+ years of experience contributing at multiple levels of the stack with Java or Go.
* Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, etc.).
* Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git/Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, or similar.
* Proof of right to work in the UK is required.
* Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience writing SQL and major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
* Experience building and orchestrating containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with CSS, SCSS, Less.
* Experience with unit testing in React (Jest).
* Experience with automated testing frameworks like Pytest or Playwright.
* Experience with cloud architectures and at least one major public cloud provider (preferably Azure).
Work Location
* Hybrid role: expected to be onsite at SAS Glasgow offices a few days a week.
