Overview
Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) ST4+ in Emergency Medicine – Fixed term post (6 months) at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland. Locum Appointments for Training will be assigned a named Consultant Educational Supervisor who can provide advice and support throughout the posting.
The post offers an opportunity to develop clinical experience and procedural skills, perform quality improvement work (including teaching opportunities) and work towards passing postgraduate exams. Educational development time is made available as per college guidelines to allow development of non-clinical skills and meet some of the hard-to-get specialty learning outcomes (SLOs).
Completion of this 6-month appointment could contribute to Higher Specialty Training (HST), should an Outcome 7.1 be attained at Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP) and the candidate subsequently enter HST via National Recruitment. The appointment could potentially be extended to 12 months, the successful candidate may discuss this with the Training Programme Director (TPD).
The training programme consistently achieves good ratings on the GMC survey with a high number of experienced Supervisors.
