Role: Learning Support Assistant - ASC/SEMH Needs Location: Wythenshawe Salary: £23,500 - £25,000 PA Hours of Work: 8.15am-4pm Position Type: Permanent Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a SEND Education Service provider to recruit a passionate Learning Support Assistant. We currently have a great opportunity for a SEND school based in Wythenshawe. About the role: You will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can thrive. Pupils have a range of SEMH needs and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with behavioural, SEMH and additional learning needs Build positive and trusting relationships with students Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group interventions Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Encourage emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience Support learning within the classroom and during transitions Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals Maintain accurate records, progress notes and safeguarding concerns Requirements: Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals Calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential Relevant education, care or behavioural support experience desirable Whats on Offer: Permanent position Competitive salary Term-time working pattern Ongoing training and development Supportive and professional working environment Opportunities for progression within specialist education This role is subject to safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
