Job Details
Your new company
You'll be joining a supportive and forward-thinking finance team within a public sector organisation that values professional development and work-life balance. The team plays a key role in enabling financial decision-making across the organisation and is committed to continuous improvement and collaboration.
Your new role
As an Accountant, you'll be responsible for providing financial support across various departments, helping to ensure accurate reporting, budget monitoring, and strategic financial planning. Whether you're part-qualified or fully qualified, you'll be encouraged to grow in the role, with study support available to help you achieve your professional goals. You'll be working closely with colleagues across the organisation, contributing to a range of financial activities and helping to drive efficiency and value.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to be a part or fully qualified accountant with experience in a financial environment - this doesn't need to be within local government. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly are essential. You'll also need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English, and a proactive, organised approach to work. Experience with financial management systems will be beneficial.
What you'll get in return
In addition to a competitive salary, you'll benefit from a generous holiday allowance, a comprehensive pension scheme, and access to a health and wellbeing programme. Other perks include free parking, a cycle-to-work scheme, sick pay, and an Employee Assistance Programme offering support on financial, legal, and personal matters.
