Overview
We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Barista/Café Assistant to join our welcoming team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, serving delicious drinks and food, and being part of a supportive, close-knit environment.
Whether you have previous experience in a café or restaurant or are just starting out, we provide training and guidance to help you develop your skills and grow within our team. You'll play an important role in making sure every guest feels welcome and enjoys their visit.
Duties
* Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffees and teas
* Take customer orders accurately and provide prompt, friendly service
* Serve food items in line with health and safety standards
* Keep workstations, dining areas, and equipment clean and organised
* Support the kitchen team with light food preparation when needed
* Assist guests with menu choices and suggest items in a friendly way
* Handle cash transactions and process payments using the POS system
* Follow food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards
* Work with the team to keep service running smoothly during busy times
Skills
* Enthusiasm for hospitality and delivering excellent customer service
* Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude
* Willingness to learn and develop café and customer service skills
* Organised, able to manage tasks effectively during busy periods
* Basic numeracy for handling cash and payments
* Communication skills to work well with both customers and team members
* Previous café or kitchen experience is a plus but not essential
