Quality Management Specialist – Defence Aviation
£40 per hour - Inside IR35

A leading aerospace and defence organisation is seeking a Quality Management Specialist to support a Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) within a highly regulated defence aviation environment.
This role will play a key part in ensuring ongoing compliance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations, supporting audit activity, and providing quality assurance across continuing airworthiness operations.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supporting and monitoring CAMO quality activities to ensure compliance with military airworthiness regulations and internal quality standards. Working closely with airworthiness, maintenance and operational teams, you’ll help drive audit assurance, process compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and conduct CAMO audit and compliance activities in line with MRP Part M / RA 4900–4974 requirements
* Verify and validate procedures and updates within the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME)
* Monitor continuing airworthiness activities to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
* Carry out product sampling, compliance checks and process assurance activities
* Support oversight of subcontracted CAMO and maintenance activities
* Ensure corrective actions and non-conformances are tracked and managed effectively
* Participate in corrective action review meetings and support risk escalation where required
* Work collaboratively with maintenance organisations, delivery teams and wider airworthiness stakeholders
* Support assurance of personnel competence, process compliance and audit readiness
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working within aerospace, aviation or defence quality environments
* Knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations (CAMO) and military aviation regulations
* Experience supporting audits, compliance monitoring or quality assurance activities
* Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex regulatory documentation
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work within highly regulated and process-driven environments
Desirable Experience
* AS9100D / AS9110C auditor training
* Aircraft programme internal auditor training
* Knowledge of MRP Part 145 / Maintenance Approved Organisation Scheme (MAOS)
* Understanding of Defence CAMO regulations
* Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) facilitation experience
* Human Factors training
* Experience with SharePoint or quality management systems
* Knowledge of DAOS surveillance audits
* Awareness of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) standards
