Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent – 52 weeks
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

The role
We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage our in-house Clinical Team at New Barn School. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. The postholder will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils who may present with complex profiles of need as a result of autism and other neurodivergent conditions, developmental trauma and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Meeting EHCP targets will be a primary focus in this role, using OFG all, group and individual clinical approaches embedded into practice. They will also coordinate line management of onsite clinical staff and lead on the service development of the school-based clinical service alongside the SLT and Regional Clinical Lead. Our Clinical Teams aim to maintain a person-centred, empowering approach with pupils at the forefront. All settings maintain a safeguarding culture, and pupils are heard, respected, and involved in decisions that affect them. We seek a Lead Clinician who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life and outcomes for pupils.
Location: New Barn School – Berkshire RG20 8HZ. New Barn School forms part of our Acorn Education brand, and is an independent specialist day school supporting children and young people aged 6–19.
Responsibilities
* Manage the in-house Clinical Team at New Barn School and provide clinical leadership.
* Collaborate with the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.
* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for pupils with complex needs and SEMH needs.
* Coordinate line management of onsite clinical team members.
* Lead service development of the school-based clinical service.
* Maintain safeguarding and pupil-centred practices.
* Work towards EHCP targets using OFG clinical approaches.
Essential Criteria
* Degree or Doctorate in Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy, or Psychology.
* Valid and up-to-date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS).
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs.
* Clear and concise report writing related to clinical and research activities.
* Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and in a growing clinical service.
* Experience of multi-professional work within the designated specialty (preferred).
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
