Engineering Team Leader Location: Bromborough Hours: 4 on 4 off days 6am-6pm Through a culture of continuous improvement to lead a motivated engineering team to deliver sustainable reliability of equipment through proactive maintenance and speed of response. Take ownership of the department whilst on shift maintaining systems essential to the operation of an efficient engineering department Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, always ensuring safe working. Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard and meet sites requirements and are always available. Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake. To deliver on relevant Engineering Key Performance Indicators To ensure engineering stock control on all parts used – booked out and accounted for correctly within the required systems. Coach, train, and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance. Always act with integrity to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement skills. Key Deliverables: Root cause analysis activities conducted routinely to identify possible causes of failure and implement corrective actions. Improvement projects identified and implemented based on performance and root cause activities undertaken. Creation of Engineering Reporting – Weekly, Monthly Reporting Creation of Safety observations (Star Cards) Managing Projects. Delivery Engineering KPIs – Engineering Downtime Targets, Preventative Maintenance Delivery. OEM customer review meetings driven at site with actions implemented to drive improvements and cost control. Skills & Knowledge: Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing Technical qualifications and competence in mechanical/electrical BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification Broad Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets Skills and capability to logically diagnose and fault find on a variety of equipment/situations. Strong experience in ensuring safe working and safe systems of work is utilised and followed. Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices Experience of working on high hazard equipment & competent in undertaking safe isolation Strong evidence of good interpersonal, communications and customer engagement skills Specific experience of clarifying priorities to customers in a busy environment Proven ability to get the best from a diverse team through a calm and clear approach. Ability to engage positively with production to ensure equipment release for maintenance. Desirable: Specific experience of Total Productive Maintenance or ‘Operator-Led' Asset Care Knowledge of Statutory Compliance obligations – particularly high-risk utilities topics Ability to interrogate and program PLCs. Experience of working with OEM suppliers to drive improve machine performance /reduce costs. Knowledge of site budgets finances Knowledge of commercial & NPD Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P. System Proven track record of mentoring within an engineering team. Competent IT/Computer skills including Holistech literate.
