Base Location: Oxford or Theale

Salary: £43,704 - £51,484 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12-month fixed term contract | Full Time | Flexible; First options available - hybrid, 50% office based

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Project Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of large electricity connections projects and a 12-month fixed term contract.

In this role you will be responsible for the successful project delivery of a range of connections. Projects will include small domestic connections through to large commercial connections, and diversions up to 33kv.


Responsibilities

* Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of large connections projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to a high standard of customer satisfaction.
* Issue contract packages with our Framework Partners, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned to efficiently deliver connections projects.
* Drive performance and profitability by identifying opportunities for improvement, enhancing customer experience, and fostering collaborative relationships with delivery partners and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure quality and compliance by overseeing inspections, managing contract documentation, and maintaining records in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
* Support stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, acting as a key point of contact for customers and delivery partners to ensure smooth and efficient project progression.


Qualifications / Experience

* Awareness and understanding of SSE connections methodology and licensing conditions that relate to connections activities and our regulatory framework including knowledge of Statutory, Regulatory and License requirements.
* Experience managing NEC3 contracts, with the ability to navigate commercial and operational interactions with delivery partners.
* Strong project management skills, including workload prioritisation, financial oversight, and planning. Prince2 Practitioner certification (or working towards) is desirable.
* Technical and commercial knowledge of the electricity distribution sector or a similar infrastructure environment.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and delivering results.
* A full UK driving licence is essential, as regular travel to sites and partner locations will be required.
