Job Description

The Business Development Manager will:Be proactive, technically aware, and commercially driven Business Development Manager able to promote a market‑leading portfolio of electrical solutions designed for critical applications. Covering a defined territory across the North of the UK, Midlands and upwards, this role offers the opportunity to influence major projects and build relationships across multiple high‑growth sectors.Selling Critical Electrical Safety systems in to Critical Environments where continuous power matters: Healthcare, Rail, Telcos, Utilities, Datacentres, O&G, E-Mobility/EV, Defence, Energy, Industrial and mining.You will:

3. Develop and implement a territory‑focused business development strategy targeting engineers, consultants, OEMs, and end clients.
4. Identify, approach, and secure new business through proactive lead generation, follow‑up of company‑generated leads, and effective use of industry networks.
5. Understand customer challenges and deliver technically and commercially tailored solutions.
6. Build and nurture long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers and influencers.
7. Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure all specifications and project requirements are met.
8. Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and quotations to win new projects.
9. Manage the full sales pipeline, maintain accurate CRM records, and report progress to senior leadership.
10. Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and sector developments to ensure strong positioning.

The Successful Applicant

The Business Development Manager will have:

11. Proven experience selling electrical solutions across multiple industries.
12. Demonstrable success in new business development and consultative selling.

Electrical or engineering qualifications are advantageous but not essential.Working knowledge of electrical solutions across sectors such as:BMS, UPS, fire & security, access control, drives, switchgear, and energy management.

13. Able to independently identify and secure new business opportunities.
14. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
15. Highly self‑motivated with strong initiative and the ability to manage a defined territory.
