Overview
Direct Home Pricing Analyst: Ageas are looking for a talented Risk Pricing Analyst to help shape the future of our home insurance product, are you passionate about data and MI, turning ideas and insights into impactful and usable reports and models to help form decisions?
The role will involve detailed analysis of data using sophisticated actuarial and statistical techniques in order to recommend pricing actions which increase volume and profit. In addition, the Pricing Analyst will build pricing capability and core skills within the business, as well as influence the strategic direction of the direct risk pricing team within the wider Ageas UK Group.
Main responsibilities
* Development and delivery of up to date and accurate datasets for modelling, pricing and monitoring.
* Develop, validate, review and approve MI reports to wider stakeholders.
* Development and maintenance of pricing models and support for their deployment.
* Carry out pricing analyses and prepare recommendations for senior stakeholders.
* Carry out deployment / send instructions for rate releases and review of rates into rate engine / live environment.
* Develop a balanced view of current and future pricing performance by combining MI, modelling results and company targets.
* Maintenance of records to coordinate pricing decisions and implementation across teams.
* Be part of new projects gaining skills in innovative tools such as Databricks, Python, Radar and Emblem.
* Understand the needs of trading and the MI that will help support tactical pricing decisions.
Skills and experience
* 2:1 or above degree in a numerical or STEM subject.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex datasets.
* Accuracy in data analysis with strong attention to detail.
* Able to explain complex information to non-technical audiences.
* Be curious to understand how pricing decisions impact customer behaviour, competitiveness and profitability.
* Collaborative mindset, open to feedback and able to work effectively within a team.
* Ideally you will have experience in the use of a programming language (e.g. R, Matlab, Python or Octave).
