The Lisbon London Line, a branch ofNimrod Asbury Trading LTD, is a family-run enterprise established in 2002. Originating as a coach hire and repair workshop, the business has evolved to specialize in car transport, heavy goods vehicle repairs, and importing/exporting vehicles, particularly between the United Kingdom and the Iberian Peninsula.
At our West Bromwich main hub, we operate a Garage focusing mainly on Bus/Coach repairs, building truck/engine export loads, and maintenence/repairs of our own fleet trucks.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our dynamic team (either with HGV experience or willing to learn).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanics, with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicles efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet, providing excellent service to our customers while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Duties
* Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, including inspections and diagnostics.
* Perform required tasks for vehicle modifications and repairs.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and equipment repair.
* Maintain effective communication with the managers of work performed and parts used during repairs.
* Assist in the operation of forklifts when necessary for moving vehicles or equipment.
* Engage in heavy lifting as required during the maintenance process.
Necessary Skills
* Strong mechanical knowledge (experience in HGV maintenance and repair desirable but not necessary, as long as will and motivation to learn)
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, assembly techniques, and equipment repair practices.
* Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills for effective team interactions.
* Capability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily duties.
Desirable Skills
* Proficiency in welding
* Ability to operate forklifts safely
