The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Waiting List Co-rdinator to join the North Orthopaedic & Trauma Service. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic and administrative oversight of outpatient elective pathways. The successful candidate will ensure that the service meets national waiting time targets while maintaining the highest standards of clinical administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
· Pathway Management: Oversee the end-to-end elective journey, ensuring the accurate management of the Treatment Time Guarantee (TTG) and outpatient waiting lists.
· Clinical Liaison: Provide expert administrative leadership to the secretarial and clinical teams, ensuring theatre lists and clinic capacities are utilised to their full potential.
· Communication & Diplomacy: Serve as a key point of contact for complex patient enquiries, requiring a high degree of confidentiality, tact, and professional diplomacy.
· Policy Compliance: Ensure all departmental activities align with Board policies and statutory requirements, maintaining rigorous data standards across all platforms.
· Operational Flexibility: Manage the demands of a high-pressure, fast-paced environment across both the GRI and STO sites to ensure service continuity.
Requirements & Qualifications
· Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with NHS systems, specifically TrakCare and Clinical Portal, is essential.
· Specialist Experience: A proven track record in Waiting List Management is highly desirable, with a sound understanding of surgical booking processes.
· Professional Attributes: Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, possess exceptional organisational skills, and remain self-motivated in a challenging environment.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory to ensure accurate and timeous information sharing across the multi-disciplinary team.
Professional Development
The North Orthopaedic Service is committed to staff progression. The post holder will be required to undertake all mandatory training and will work closely with their Line Manager to develop a bespoke training plan aligned with both personal objectives and service requirements.
