Be the person who keeps everything running smoothly. Join us as a Medical Secretary and play a key role in supporting the LDAN service day to day.You’ll be transcribing digital dictation, putting together clear medical reports and letters, and working closely with a great team of fellow medical secretaries. If you enjoy being organised, supportive, and at the heart of a busy service, this could be a perfect fit. What You’ll Be Doing Typing up dictated medical reports and clinic letters from LDAN Clinics, making sure they’re accurate and sent to the right people on time. Preparing and sending Health Reports to the relevant professionals by their deadlines. Working closely with other professionals when extra information or clarification is needed. Keeping on top of team tasks and managing the shared Outlook mailbox so everything is organised and dealt with promptly. Being the first point of contact for clinical staff, helping with any questions or concerns they may have. Using Microsoft Office confidently as part of your daily work. Entering and updating information accurately in our in‑house database systems. Managing your own workload, using your initiative to prioritise tasks and knowing when to escalate anything outside your remit. Taking on any additional tasks your line manager may assign. Essential Skills & Experience Confident using digital audio typing. Able to manage a busy workload proactively and work both independently and within a multi‑disciplinary team. Experienced in maintaining electronic filing systems and handling sensitive or complex information appropriately. Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott Principles. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, plus database maintenance. Excellent written and verbal communication, with accuracy, tact and attention to detail. Able to work autonomously, use initiative, and collaborate with others when needed. Capable of meeting high standards and tight deadlines under pressure. Comfortable suggesting and developing new processes to improve the service. Ability to drive and access to a car for travel between work locations. Desirable Experience working as a medical secretary and familiarity with medical terminology. Audio typing qualification. Experience using Lexacom digital dictation.
