Step into a high‑profile Housing Litigation role where you will lead on complex rent, service charge and Housing Benefit Appeal matters. You will run and manage your own litigation caseload, issue claims, review court and tribunal documents, and provide expert legal advice across key income areas. Experience in a local authority, or similar, of conducting complex general litigation at all levels of courts and tribunals is essential.
You will review and authorise officer‑prepared documents for hearings and act with full rights of audience where required, taking ownership of authorised cases across housing rents, benefits, and leasehold/freehold disputes.
The role requires confident decision‑making, including identifying and managing reputational and financial risk, working directly with officers involved in litigation, and maintaining strict governance and statutory/court deadlines with minimal supervision.
You will represent the organisation at court and tribunals and support the wider Litigation Team to ensure legislation and policy are accurately applied and communicated across the service. Applicants must be a UK Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX qualified with at least 2+ years PQE.
If you are an experienced UK Housing Litigator ready for a fast‑paced, high‑impact assignment, please contact Sharzad Michaels in the Legal & Governance Team at Allen Lane.
