Help Protect Young People in Bristol Through Data-Driven Insight.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our team, supporting strategic and operational responses to extra-familial risk and harm outside the home. This is a unique opportunity to use your analytical expertise to influence decision-making, improve outcomes for children and young people, and contribute to city-wide efforts to reduce exploitation and serious youth violence.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will:
1. Lead the development of analytical products and strategies focused on harm outside the home, supporting senior managers in tasking and deploying operational resources.
2. Collect, analyse, and interpret data from a wide range of agencies, including crime and safeguarding datasets, to inform strategic planning and service delivery.
3. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to drive performance management across the Adolescent Team and wider partnership.
4. Produce regular intelligence reports and performance dashboards for key meetings and boards, including MACE and strategic forums.
5. Develop problem profiles and analytical outputs to identify patterns of exploitation, violence, and crime affecting young people in Bristol.
6. Support the Safer Connections Team in using intelligence to understand risk, improve data collection and monitoring, and enhance systems and processes.
7. Contribute to the development of the KBSP data and intelligence group, helping shape city-wide approaches to tackling harm outside the home.
Key Responsibilities
8. Daily: Attend briefings and maintain the data/intelligence log.
9. Weekly: Report intelligence summaries at team briefings.
10. Monthly: Deliver data and intelligence products for MACE meetings.
11. Quarterly: Produce strategic reports on extra-familial risks and harms.
12. Monitor and analyse city-wide data trends to inform operational priorities.
13. Maintain and update intelligence logs and analytical tools.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
14. Has strong experience in data analysis, particularly in public sector or safeguarding contexts.
15. Can work confidently with multi-agency datasets and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
16. Understands issues around exploitation, youth violence, and contextual safeguarding.
17. Are comfortable presenting findings to senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic decision-making.
18. Is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
