Project Type: Data Centre Construction
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, review, and manage detailed MEP quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and BOQs for the data centre project.
* Monitor project costs, track variances, and provide monthly cost reports and forecasts.
* Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents, commercial proposals, and subcontractor quotations.
* Evaluate MEP subcontractor claims, variations, and change orders in line with contractual obligations.
* Collaborate with project teams to forecast cash flows and manage project budgets.
* Conduct risk and opportunity analysis for MEP packages, providing recommendations to mitigate cost impacts.
* Support procurement strategies by analyzing cost data and subcontractor performance.
* Liaise closely with the MEP design and delivery teams to ensure alignment between design intent, construction methods, and budget.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial operations.
* Provide guidance to junior QS staff and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying, ideally within data centre, high-tech, or complex building projects.
* Strong understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing.
* Proven experience with commercial management software (e.g., CostX, Aconex, or similar).
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and reporting skills.
* Strong knowledge of FIDIC / NEC / JCT contracts and commercial processes.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high professional standards.
