Join Our Team as a Skilled CNC Operator!
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? At Waukesha Bearings, part of Dover Precision Components, we are looking for a passionate and skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. You will be an integral part of our fully integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, where you’ll utilize cutting-edge CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your work will help produce customized designs from a variety of materials, including steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will:
* Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and specifications.
* Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring precision and quality in every part produced.
* Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
* Select and install the proper tooling for various operations.
* Calculate feeds and speeds for different materials.
* Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce setup times.
* Prepare final components for shipment, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for candidates who possess:
* A time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or an SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment.
* Established milling experience with multi-axis machine tools, ideally Correa and/or Doosan.
* Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas.
* The ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
* Experience with precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
* Experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar industries is a plus.
Working Conditions
We offer a 37-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with permanent employment contracts. You can choose between:
* £44,919.62 for a rotating shift pattern (early shift starting at 6 AM and backshifts starting at 2 PM).
* £52,452.37 for night shift work.
These rates include shift premiums, and we also offer:
