Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. The shift pattern for this role includes early, late, and night shifts from Monday to Sunday.
We are seeking a dynamic and friendly team member for a Band 5 Theatre perioperative practitioner position in the Main theatre Suite IRH.
The unit comprises 6 operating theatres, a reception suite, and a recovery area, operating 24/7 throughout the year, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
The department handles a variety of surgical procedures such as General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Orthopaedic elective surgery, and has introduced robotic-assisted colorectal surgery in 2022, working in collaboration with Clyde colorectal surgeons at the Queen Elizabeth theatre suite.
We offer extensive training and development opportunities, including funded access to courses at GCU and in-house mentorship programs. Applicants should have current NMC/HCPC registration, enthusiasm, motivation, and an interest in peri-operative care. Prior experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
The role requires PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland Check, flexibility to work across a 7-day service, and potential multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow.
