Overview
The practice is recruiting 1 salaried GP to cover maternity leave. The post will cover 6 sessions (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) from November 2025. Newly qualified GPs are welcome to apply. We are a supportive practice located in Preston, Lancashire.
Main duties
The locum GP will be a key member of the team with duties to include:
* Surgery consultations, with a preference for face-to-face; video and telephone consultations where appropriate
* Home visits including support for palliative patients
* Participation in the on-call/duty rota and staying at least one day per week until 18:30
* Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
* Dealing with general queries and paperwork/correspondence
* Good organisational skills, excellent communication, and good time management
* Ability to work under pressure and initiative to work independently; good IT skills
* Committed to providing quality and patient satisfaction; team-oriented
About us
The practice offers an opportunity to join a well-established team in Preston with three surgery sites and a mixed patient demographic. We are a training practice with a supportive, encouraging working environment. We are patient-focused with high QOF achievement and strong links with our Primary Care Network. The clinical platform is EMIS Web complemented by Accurix. We are a GMS practice with a strong clinical and admin team, including 2 GP partners, 10 salaried doctors, 6 ANPs, 4 practice nurses, 5 HCAs/GPA, and 4 pharmacists. The business and back-office functions are supported by experienced managers and a large pool of admin and reception staff.

* Delivery of highly effective medical care to the local population with face-to-face consultations; video and telephone where appropriate
* Provision of services in-line with the GMS contract and local ICB initiatives
