Job Title: Community Projects & Governance Co-ordinator

Location: Wherstead Park, Ipswich, Suffolk

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract Type: Permanent, Hybrid working (minimum three days per week in the office)

Reporting to: Secretariat Officer

Team: Secretariat /Community


About the Role:

Are you an organised, proactive professional who thrives in a role that blends governance with community impact? We’re looking for a Community Projects & Governance Co-ordinator to join our Secretariat Team at East of England Co-op.


This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our Society’s governance, community programmes, and charitable initiatives – ensuring our operations remain compliant while strengthening our connection with local communities.


Based at our Wherstead Park head office (with hybrid working available), you’ll play a key role in maintaining strong governance standards while coordinating projects that reflect our Co-op values and make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing:

* Provide administrative support for governance, community projects, and Secretariat functions.
* Assist with corporate compliance duties, ensuring timely and accurate filings, documentation, and reporting.
* Support our Community Programmes through scheduling, coordination, and data management.
* Vet charity partners to ensure alignment with our Co-op’s purpose and values.
* Use workflow tools to track progress and improve the efficiency of programme delivery.
* Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and contribute to operational planning.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and data protection requirements.
* Support the organisation of Board and community-related events and activities.


What You’ll Need:

* Proven experience in administration, ideally in a compliance, governance, or community-focused environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence liaising across departments.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a methodical approach to work.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
* Analytical mindset with experience tracking outcomes or supporting reporting.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* A proactive, detail-focused approach with a commitment to confidentiality and accuracy.


Desirable:

* Experience supporting governance or regulatory processes.
* Understanding of the charitable or community sector.
* Familiarity with DocuSign, Doodle Poll, or workflow automation tools.
