We are launching our Emergency Gas Responder Apprenticeship programme across Scotland and are looking for a diverse range of people to join us in completing this 3-year programme. During this time, we will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to work as part of our highly skilled operations teams, safely delivering gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across the south of England and Scotland.

We want to uncover your values, skills, and cognitive abilities to enrich our team. We are currently looking for Gas Engineer Assistants to support our Engineers in repairing, replacing, and laying new gas mains and services.

The role;
You will support our qualified gas engineers in providing various services to our customers, including:
* Installation of gas meters and regulators
* Responding to reported gas emergencies
* Installation & maintenance of gas networks
* Promoting health and safety in gas service/repair activities
This programme will lead to successful Gas Safe Registration in categories such as CESP 1, MET 1/2, MET4, TPCP1A, REGT1, and REGT2.
Working with our academic partners, you will attend college on a 'block' release basis throughout your 3 years, building your skills and knowledge towards achieving the Modern Apprenticeship in Gas Engineering. You will also be supported by our experienced engineers and managers, gaining real-world experience. Some training centres may be distant from your home, and accommodations will be arranged if needed.
What you will need;
* At least 3 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, including Maths & English
* An interest in developing a career within the gas network industry
* Ability to commit to 3 years of training and education
* A can-do attitude and passion for building a successful career
* Preferably, you should be able to drive; if not, you will be expected to pass your driving test within 6-12 months of joining.
