Murphy is recruiting for a Logistics Supervisor to work with Murphy Plant at Hemel Hempstead

A day in the life of a Murphy Logistics Supervisor
Ensure that drivers comply with drivers’ hours and tachograph rules and with speed limits.
The making of arrangements to ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and the action taken to remedy defects found.
The reporting and recording of vehicle defects by drivers.
Ensure the accuracy of all records, which must be kept for a period of not less than 15 months.
Implement controls to ensure that the vehicle/s are not overloaded.
Ensuring that authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised operating centre(s) when not in use.
Control all Human Capital activity in relation to HGV drivers in region in line with Group HC processes.
Ensure compliance with ADR Regulations
Monitor the DVSA Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) system
Investigate all road-side checks by DVSA
Utilise the company vehicle tracker system for the control of HGV Drivers.
Attend FTA Transport Manager Seminars annually to keep up to date with changes to transport legislation.
Consider commercial efficiencies within the region to increase profitability.
Improve customer experience ensuring that JMS are recognised as the Murphy Plant client and are serviced in line with best practice customer service.
Plan the development of HGV drivers through periodic driver CPC training.
Ensure reporting of Health & Safety incidents in line with Group expectations.

Must have previous logistics experience, technical experience with transport
Possess extensive knowledge of transport regulations
Experience within a construction/engineering or similar background would be beneficial
Literate and Numerate with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications.
Be able to handle emergencies and adjust team priorities and work schedules as needed.
