Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield is seeking a Generalist Adviser to join our team. In this role, you will provide advice focused on a range of issues, including welfare benefits, housing, debt, and discrimination. Support will be delivered both over the phone and face to face, helping clients understand their rights and responsibilities by exploring their problems in depth. You will encourage clients to take ownership of the steps needed to resolve their issues, while also providing casework and advocacy for those requiring additional support.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working as a Generalist Adviser but full training will be provided for the right candidates entering the service as trainees. What’s really important is your ability to learn quickly and apply this knowledge to helping clients. A good attitude to hard work, finding solutions and being able to take constructive feedback are essential as are strong interpersonal, written and oral skills.
