Role Overview:
We are seeking a People Officer to deliver core HR and payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring a high standard of service across the business. Acting as the first point of contact for people and payroll queries across the UK & Ireland, you will also support employee benefits, HR reporting, and key employee lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Responsibilities:
* Provide first-line HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
* Support employee relations activities, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management.
* Assist with developing and implementing HR policies aligned with business strategy.
* Manage onboarding, probation, changes to terms, and offboarding processes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records in compliance with GDPR.
* Support broader HR initiatives such as learning and development and engagement surveys.
* Stay informed on changes to employment law and HR best practices.
* Produce timely and accurate HR reports.
* Support ad-hoc HR projects.
Payroll Responsibilities:
* Process monthly payroll for the UK & Ireland accurately and efficiently.
* Liaise with finance teams and external payroll providers to submit data and resolve queries.
* Manage payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary adjustments, and statutory payments.
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and pension auto-enrolments.
* Maintain accurate payroll records for finance and audit purposes.
* Support year-end payroll processes (e.g., P60s, P11Ds).
* Calculate holiday entitlements for part-time employees.
* Administer and maintain employee benefits.
* Manage Maternity, Paternity, Shared Parental, and Adoption leave processes.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in payroll administration.
* Experience in HR administration or advisory roles.
* Proficient in Excel.
* CIPP or CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
* Results-driven and process-focused.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
* Able to manage ambiguity and work independently and collaboratively.
* Customer-focused with a proactive and positive approach.
