RecruitME is working with a leading national renewable energy operator to recruit a Document Controller based in Guildford or covering their wider UK site network.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Document Controller to join a future-focused organisation at the forefront of low-carbon energy solutions. You’ll be part of a team responsible for supporting engineering, compliance and operational excellence by managing and maintaining structured, accurate, and accessible documentation systems.
As a Document Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory readiness, technical accuracy, and efficient information flow across complex projects and multiple operational sites. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a fast-growing sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and maintain controlled documentation including engineering drawings, health and safety records, SOPs, and project deliverables
2. Ensure accurate version control, change tracking, and secure document storage
3. Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate document exchange and updates
4. Support audit processes by maintaining up-to-date documentation and preparing relevant records
5. Administer SharePoint, Dropbox, or internal CMS systems used for document storage and access
6. Set up structured document control frameworks for new projects and sites
7. Promote continuous improvement in document workflows and compliance standards
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience:
8. Previous experience in a Document Controller, quality systems, or technical administration role
9. Familiar with document management tools and platforms such as SharePoint and MS Office
10. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and document accuracy
11. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
12. Experience in engineering, utilities, construction, or similar regulated environments
Desirable:
13. Knowledge of ISO or similar quality frameworks
14. Background in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors
15. Understanding of anaerobic digestion or biogas operations (not essential)
