My Sunderland based client is hiring an Interim Assistant Management Accountant to support the delivery of accurate, timely financial information that helps drive decision-making across the business.
You’ll work closely with management accountants and the finance manager, supporting budgeting, reporting, and financial control processes. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail, confidence with numbers, and solid organisational skills will be key.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Assist with management accounts and quarterly reporting
* Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Reconcile balance sheets and income
* Support annual budgets and forecasts
* Review suppliers and recommend cost savings
* Account for pension contributions
* Verify property costs against contracts
* Build financial models and assess ongoing project performance
* Mentor finance assistants and contribute to robust financial systems and controls
If you are AAT Level 4 or equivalent experience, strong Excel and finance systems skills, and a sharp eye for detail and accuracy. You should be a confident communicator—both written and verbal—comfortable working independently, meeting tight deadlines. Solid problem-solving instincts are a must, along with a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites when needed
