Key Responsibilities Underwriting: Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite new and existing business within delegated authority. Ensure underwriting decisions align with company strategy and risk appetite. Conduct audits and provide feedback, coaching and training as appropriate. Customer & Broker Engagement: Provide embedded underwriting support and use the appropriate method of communication. Build strong relationships with brokers and clients, supporting the Company's niche markets. Business Development: Maximise opportunities sourced by the Business Development team. Contribute to sustainable premium growth in core segments. Operational Excellence: Plan, prioritise, and manage workload to meet agreed objectives. Support compliance, governance, and "right first time" service standards. Provide team manager support as and when required Skills & Qualifications Essential: Strong technical underwriting knowledge (Property & Casualty). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to analyse risk and make sound commercial decisions. Desirable: Diploma in Insurance (Dip CII) or commitment to achieve within an agreed timescale. Track record of profitable underwriting and broker relationship management. Familiarity with Financial Lines products.
