Job Description:
Excellent opportunity for anyone fluent in MANDARIN with recent experience as a Network and Security Engineer or with 5 years in this field seeking their next role. This corporate banking role involves installation, support, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security frameworks, assisting the network and security manager in managing the bank's IT networking equipment and supporting the HO network.
Job Title: MANDARIN Network and Security Engineer
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Work style: Onsite office-based role
Salary: up to £75,000 per annum
Languages: Mandarin Chinese and English
Key Responsibilities:
1. Security Monitoring & Incident Response
o Monitor security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) for threats.
o Investigate security alerts and incidents.
o Assist in incident response and remediation.
2. Vulnerability Management
o Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing.
o Collaborate on patching systems and mitigating risks.
3. Network Access Control (NAC)
o Configure switches and endpoints for NAC upgrades and troubleshooting.
o Install and troubleshoot Cisco IP Phone/IPC services.
4. Network Administration
o Configure network devices and perform health checks.
o Provide after-hours support for network/security issues (on-call).
5. Compliance & Collaboration
o Ensure security standards are met.
o Coordinate network checks and operational procedures.
o Work with global/Head Office IT teams.
o Document processes and communicate IT controls.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (preferred).
Experience: Minimum 3 years in IT support (network/security/IP telephony).
Technical Skills:
* Experience with OSPF, BGP, STP, NAC, and IPT (Cisco).
* Knowledge of network monitoring tools, NDR, and SIEM systems.
* Vulnerability assessment tools and patch management.
Soft Skills:
* Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Working Conditions:
* Flexibility for after-hours/weekend support during incidents.
