Depute Nursery Manager (7/09452M) (Fixed Term)
Location: Cargenbridge Nursery
Salary: £6,323.28 - £6,787.49
Cargenbridge Nursery caters for children aged 3-5 years old. We strive to provide an enriching, nurturing environment both indoors and outdoors to promote children's independence and curiosity. Dumfries and Galloway Council's Nursery settings may operate between 8.00am - 6.00pm, and working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service. The successful candidate will work 7 hours per week for 39 weeks per year, on a Wednesday.

Cargenbridge Primary School is seeking to recruit a committed and dedicated Depute Nursery Manager to cover a maternity leave starting July 2025 for up to one year. The role involves working as an effective member of our early years team to deliver high-quality, child-centred services that meet the needs of children and their families.
As Depute Nursery Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring high-quality early learning and childcare for all children.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. They should be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be capable of leading and managing a team of staff.
Applicants must hold a qualification in Social Services, Children & Young People at SCQF Level 7, or an HNC in Childhood Practice at Level 7 (or equivalent).
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, will need to provide a police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
