Your new role
We are supporting a highly regarded, large-scale organisation within the built environment to appoint a Head of Technology Change Delivery into their Group Technology & Data function. This is a senior leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to operate at enterprise level, taking full accountability for the delivery of aplex portfolio of technology-enabled change initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Group Technology & Data Director, this role sits at the heart of the organisation’s transformation agenda. You will be responsible for shaping anderning a multi-million-pound portfolio, ensuring that programmes are effectively scoped, prioritised and delivered in line with wider business strategy. It’s a position that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across large, business-critical change initiatives. As a key member of the Technology & Data Leadership Team, you will play a central role in driving forward delivery of excellence across the function. This includes leading high-performing internal teams, working closely with senior business stakeholders, and ensuring that technology programmes genuinely enable and enhance operational performance across the Group.
A significant element of the role centres around supplier and partner management. You will lead end-to-end engagement across major third-party providers from initial RFI/RFP processes through to deliveryernance and service transition, ensuring strong, value-driven relationships and successful oues acrossplex programmes.
The successful individual will also take ownership of financialernance across the portfolio, managing both opex and capex spend, with a clear focus on cost control, forecasting accuracy and value delivery. Alongside this, you will ensure that all programmes operate within robusternance frameworks, with appropriate controls, reporting and risk management in place.
This is a leadership role that demands a collaborative and people-centric approach. You will be responsible for developing capability within the team, driving performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Working closely with project sponsors and divisional stakeholders, you will ensure alignment between technology delivery and wider organisational priorities.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of leading large-scale, business‑critical technology change programmes, working in close partnership with senior stakeholders to deliver oues that genuinely enable and transform the wider organisation. You will befortable operating at both strategic and delivery levels, with a strong grounding in structured project and programme management methodologies.
A depth of experience acrossplex enterprise environments is essential, particularly in relation to integrated application landscapes and ERP-led ecosystems. You will have significant exposure to managing third-party technology providers, including software vendors, with a clear understanding ofmercial models, licensing, and contractual frameworks. Experience overseeing large-scale supplier engagements and driving value through those partnerships will be key. From a financial andernance perspective, you will have a demonstrable track record of managing sizeable budgets, typically in excess of £1m, with responsibility for forecasting, cost control and ensuring return on investment. Alongside this, you will be highly credible when engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including Board-level, and able to influence decision-making withinplex organisational structures.
In terms of leadership capability, you will be a confident and engaging people leader, with the ability to build, develop and mentor high-performing teams. Strongmunication skills are critical, with the ability to translateplex technical concepts into clear,mercially relevant messaging for a broad audience. You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to managepeting priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery. A naturally analytical and solutions-focused approach will enable you to navigate challenges effectively, supported by excellent time, resource and stakeholder management
