XOL Credit Underwriter - 12 Months FTC
Summary of role: Develop XoL new business and service existing XoL clients whilst maintaining sound Commercial and Risk underwriting standards. Contribute to the development of the XoL product within the NEUR region.
Main Tasks
New Business:
* Develop good relationships with brokers to generate new business enquiries, including attendence at market/networking events
* Underwriting and pricing of new business enquiries using the XoL pricing model as well as market knowledge
* Credit Limit underwriting for prechecks
Account Management:
* Servicing and renewal of existing portfolio of policies: regular meetings with insureds, brokers and co-insurers;
* Drafting wordings and endorsements
* Credit limit underwriting
* Structuring and pricing of renewal terms
* Monitoring of overdue reports and claims
Risk Underwriting:
* Deciding on credit limit requests promptly and consistently using information available in IRP and market knowledge
* Monitoring risk exposure, trade sector evolution and action plans
* Requesting further information from Risk office
Working with internal stakeholders in order to provide the best service to XoL insureds and prospects:
* Creating and submitting credit limit recommendations to the Regional Risk Director
* Creating and submitting new business and renewal terms recommendations to GMMCD
* Liaising with local risk offices for risks to be regraded / recommendations to be obtained
What we are looking for
Market Knowledge:
* Expertise in dedicated business industries and understanding of market dynamics.
Business Expertise:
* Ability to structure solutions when faced with complex business cases.
* Strong business and finance assessment skills.
* Proven knowledge and experience in underwriting.
* Demonstrates commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
Interpersonal Skills:
* Effective communicator with the ability to persuade and justify decisions.
* Capable of holding and facilitating client visits and broker meetings, including handling challenging discussions with senior stakeholders.
Languages:
* Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages considered a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in both risk and commercial underwriting functions, providing a comprehensive understanding of the underwriting process and risk management strategies.
